We believe that it doesn't matter if you've never been to church or if you've gone your entire life. It doesn't matter if you're 8 or 80, we all have a step to take toward Jesus.

We'd love to help you take it.

glad you're here!

We've all been through a lot and are probably going through a lot right now, so let's figure it out together. We believe that people have imperfect, messy, and sometimes crazy lives, even if we do a good job at hiding it. But we also believe that when we engage together in a transforming relationship with Jesus, we can find answers to help us, no matter how difficult our circumstances. No matter if you've been attending church for 60 years or you've never been to one, you can find your place here. We can help you take your next step in following Jesus and help you find your purpose in this life.

when we gather

On Sunday our worship service begins at 11:00am. Our cafe opens for everyone at 10:30 where you'll find free doughnut holes, juice, and coffee. We'd also love for you to come by our Welcome Center located just inside the front doors to find out more information about what's going on and to pick up a free Bible if you do not have one!

We also have a lot happening throughout the week, from Life Groups in homes or in the church building, to student ministry on Wednesday nights at 6:30 for teens, to fun events and ways to serve in our community.

Our Sunday mornings are relaxed and comfortable, and you will feel welcomed as soon as you walk to the door. Our music is lively and connective, the teaching is Biblically based, authentic, and relevant to your life, and our fellowship is genuine and refreshing. Come early and visit our cafe to get a drink and some doughnut holes before service, or spend some time visiting with friends in the lobby.

justin gillespie

Lead Pastor/elder

Justin is one of those rare commodities, you know, not originally from Raleigh either. He was born in a small town in Southern Indiana, but mainly grew up in Tennessee. Justin also had an interesting upbringing, he's a preacher's kid!  But not just any preacher's kid, one who had seasons in life of not acting like it. Justin is married to a woman who he met in youth group and has a son and 2 girls. One of his main sayings is, 'we're all in the same boat.'  This is in reference to life, we all have our pasts, our mistakes, our failures, so let's work through them together and let Jesus do what Jesus does...heal our sin and our trauma, even if we were the cause. Contact Justin at justin@northraleigh.church.

wally moore

Associate pastor/elder

Wally grew up in a rural town right outside Roanoke, Virginia, but don't ask him about football, fixing cars, or hunting-- he's not going to know anything about it. He is a strange combination of The Andy Griffith Show and Star Trek and enjoys the nerdy things of life. Wally has spent time as a barista, in hospital chaplaincy, and now in home inspection aside from serving in church ministry. He believes that following Jesus is so worth the cost and that walking alongside others as they learn to follow him is a great privilege. Contact him at wally@northraleigh.churchAnd yes, Wally's full first name really is just Wally.

Elizabeth babitz

worship director

Elizabeth is the youngest of 8 children and grew up singing around the piano with her brothers and sisters. Her debut song was , “These Boots Are Made For Walking” at the age of 3. She truly believes in using Romans 4:17 to “call things that are not as though they were!” Elizabeth has 2 daughters after being told by doctors she would never have children. She also used faith to find NRCC, she prayed for a church and started driving until she landed in the parking lot. She enjoys traveling, shopping, live events, football, concerts, musicals and of course WWE. Elizabeth praises the Lord for the opportunity to serve our North Raleigh community through worship. Contact Elizabeth at elizabeth@northraleigh.church.

samantha shanks

kids director

Samantha grew up in northern Michigan and moved to Raleigh in 2017. As the daughter of the piano player of a small church, she grew up going to church and was at the building most every time it was open. She was heavily involved in her youth group growing up and enjoyed playing on the youth worship band. Samantha is married to her husband Cameron who loves to build computers, and she has three awesome girls who love Jesus. Her hobbies include playing music, playing soccer, and drinking coffee. Contact Sam at samantha@northraleigh.church.

Erica fulcher

Erica is from North Carolina originally, but also lived in the midwest for a while. She was excited to return to North Carolina, where she is now raising her two daughters with her husband, Jonathan/Jon/Fulche. They enjoy exploring the beaches and the mountains of NC together, and truly can't decide which they love more! Erica worked in public accounting for years, and continues to do this kind of work seasonally, on a contract basis. She also spends time working with our schools to help bridge the significant resources gap. Erica was never planning to be on a church staff, but God is showing her that His plan is greater! She believes we all have a purpose in building God's kingdom, and it brings such joy when you step into the gifts you have that God can use in that purpose. north raleigh students

North Raleigh Student Ministry provides opportunities for our 6th to 12th grade students to begin and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

We believe that a vital part of the teenage years is learning to seek God together and to understand His will for us individually, but also together as a group and as part of the church. Our goal is to create environments where students experience life in Jesus together with friends as well as trained and committed adult leaders to mentor them. We meet on Wednesdays evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 PM at the church building for teaching, discussion, and fun. Outside of Wednesdays evenings we also provide opportunities for students to meet for smaller group discipleship as well as regular events and longer getaways such as summer conference.

We welcome your middle and high schoolers to be a part of what God is doing in NRCC Students, and we look forward to walking alongside your family as we follow Jesus together!

North raleigh kids

North Raleigh Kids happens during the Sunday worship service for kids birth - 5th grade. During this time, your child will learn about Jesus and the Bible on their level and have a lot of fun!

Check-in begins at 10:45 and is located in the foyer to the left of the front doors. Every volunteer is extensively background checked and the doors are locked from the outside, even the ones in the interior of the building. Safety is very important to us!
